Proud Mama

Jesse's school band is taking a trip to British Columbia for a mass band concert in a few weeks.
They had a preview night tonight so that we would be able to hear our kids perform.

Jesse is singing a solo.
This is the first time he has sung in front of a crowd.

Yes, there were tears in my eyes!
He , while fairly happy with his performance, assures me that it will be better next time! Hopefully he will be over his cold by then. . .

I loved Jesse's singing and the song! You girls have really talented families. Do you, Rose, and Tamara have musical talents? And, your other sister? I mean, how do you do that...raise such musical children?! Good job, moms. Vicky

We're hosting the Winnipeg band here in Lynden but I'll be sure to find my "cousin once removed" at the big Band Concert - think I'll recognize him?

That's great! I didn't know that Jesse could sing. What I admire most is the courage to sing alone in front of others. He didn't seem nervous at all.

I just listened to the song again with my girls and we are just amazed at his RANGE.....and that really low bass note he sang.....WOW!

Oh, the tears I shed each time my girls hit a softball, read a poem, had a sweet moment...

ps to Vicky...when Tamara and I were children, we'd sit on the swing in my family's back yard and make up songs to sing, she had an awesome voice back then and I'm sure she still does now :-)
